infected diabetic ulcer

What can I do to receive help without insurance?

I worked, but not long enough to get insurance. I’m a diabetic and have been out of work for approximately two months; moreover, my leg has become infected with a ulcer and with no insurance I’m having problems paying my rent; in fact, I can’t pay the clinic any money because I don’t have any money. There kind of warning if I don’t make payments they won’t let me see their doctor anymore. I don’t know what to do and I surely don’t want to loose my leg. Is there anywhere or anyone you know that would help me. I maybe might be even put into the streets because I can’t pay my rent. I’m scared and don’t know what to do. I 54 years old and it’s hard to find a job I can deal with at my age. I’m not in the best of health do to my diabeties. I’ve prayed to God to help, but still no answers. It seems like no one will help. Even my sister talks about putting me into the streets. I live with her for now, but I believe in time she’ll tell me to leave. I don’t know where to go for help.

You can go to the city hospital and be treated there. We have a big city hospital that accepts patients without insurance.

Also, they have a lot of insurance plans that you can pay for (if you can afford it) and get individual insurance. I know blue cross/blue sheild does this because my sister had to get insurance through them, but it may make getting approval harder because you are having trouble with your diabetes. Good luck!!
